Hello folks,
I have set up Magic Set Editor (version complete) with Mutant Chronicles files. I've tested it and constated a little bug in the game text pannel (under the attributs one). When I type some letters, there are some internal tags which make appearance (mm>>m>mm>m>mm>>>m>mm by example) and if I continue taping or deleting the previous letters the tags are multiplying. Else the image adding work well.
I will create several cards to test the set management...

Ciao Coral
first of all : welcome to this forum.
Thanks for your advise about bug editor.
To solve this bug you must download this file
(game) and put it into folder: \Magic Set Editor 2\data\mutantchronicles.mse-game.
or download new installer right version.
Let me know if it is ok.

Yes, it works. I see the application may change automatically the scale of the text in the pannel. Good.
Last question, is the MC CMG title typo is available ?
I see in the PDF resume there is a some special typo TimesMC and MisProject but I don't know if there are available on the net or are specially created by FFG.

Coral,
I think that MC CMG title font was made by FFG.
The nearest font I know is gunship.

Ho sbagliato in qualcosa? Come devo fare?

Hy Emilius.
To Alakay. To come back on the typo question, I thought you have the FFG typo because in the picture capture of the application there was the special typo included.
But I will try to retake it directly from Edge Entertainment (the french-spannish distributor) this monday.
On other subject, do someone work today on unofficial cards for new factions for the game ? Last week-end, I've submitted to San Dorado some homebrew lists for Mishima, Imperial, Cybertronic and other Apostles but this is not a final work (same kind of work as I provided for Warzone 2nd edition in 2001). I would prefer to have some players who have experience in game balancing (I see you have a long Doom Trooper CCG experience) in order to provide me with units in the Fantasy Flight Games way of thinking (I'm good to retake old units in new factions and build a particular flavor for each army with command cards but this is not as interesting as new units with new abilities).
I look at the Imperial army list released on FFG website but the units are a bit overpowered to my taste (silver units which will easily be gold units in existing faction).

Coral,
be sure that into our community there are some guys that could help in this unofficial MC MG project.
I'll contact Sandorado for your homemade list.
Yes I saw that imperial list published on FFG website. I agree with you: it is unbalanced.

Hi Coral, and welcome to these forums!
Well, I had the opportunity to see some of your cards 2 days ago, when I met sandorado in one of our Tuesday's GCC play-testing meeting, and I have appreciated a lot your job!
If we want to continue the CMG (or whatever we call it), then I think that we have to be synchronized together with the guys from FFG forum, in order to have a single instance of a miniature, without facing the situation where the Italian community creates a card for a named unit, then another community creates the same unit but with different abilities and so on...
So either we keep the various forums aligned during the development of the cards, or we choose a single place where they could be discussed.
Let me know what do you think about it.
Salut!

IMO, la definizione Mutant Chronicles Miniatures Game è la migliore: MCMG, come da titolo del topic.

In fact, I think about a two steps project :
Step 1 : We will discuss only on this forum about a first draft of the project (in a small thinking tank). Orientation, game balancing and flavor. I need your experience in Doom Trooper expansion balancing (I don't have any) and your imagination to flesh the army lists (I'm an expert in retaking existing materials, not with designing original ones). The army lists I designed are only a reference point to start (it takes only few minutes to correct them). But it's possible to restart from zero. The main objectiv is to build fastly a project without too many persons involved.
Step 2 : We propose to other forums an advanced draft of the project (with or without card layouts). If the project is advanced enough, we can make the difference with other projects which focus mainly on card designing or only one faction at a time. The added value must be game balancing, respect of existing units (not overpowering spiral) and a global thinking for factions orientation (we can't design independently each faction). The main objectiv is to convince people, not bringing down the project with various askings from different players (it's impossible to satisfy everybody).
Another word I would like to say before starting. I'm following this game since october 2007 (at first as translator, then as player). During all theses months of long waiting, I searched to understand the FFG gameplay (the balancing, the translating from Warzone army lists, the future units and so on). And after one year, I can say this : Mutant Chronicles CMG is not a challenger or kind of successor to Warzone game. It's a completly different game, closer of a boardgame than a wargame. So, the intuitiv reflex to translate Warzone units into FFG units with all statistics, special abilities as we know them in MC/Warzone is a mistake. FFG didn't know well MC world, and the designing of some units reflect this. If we want to succeed, we must forget a bit about Warzone game balancing and think more about FFG gameplay (for Warzone players, this will be difficult to make abstraction of this).
The First and Second set on the 5 existing factions give a good idea of what FFG intend to make with future factions (I discovered the command cards are more important to specifiate the flavor of a faction than units themselves). But we must find a balance between game continuity and originality of the new factions.
PS : I will not pretend to know all the ends and means from FFG for this game. Several times, the game designer, Nate French, has different interpretation of game rules and balancing than my intinctiv opinion (and more frequently than I would admit it). So I will be very modest on the question of game balancing ...

Yes, I agree with everything you said.
I think we should create expansions that are the same everywhere.
This fantastic game is very different from Warzone and more beautiful in my opinion regarding the gameplay.
Coral it's possible to know the Army List you designed?
It could be a starting point to create something...

This is a very important consideration: I don't know Warzone miniature game but I immediatly understand this game that is different from other with miniatures. A boardgame is simplier than a wargame and we have to consider this difference

One of the strong points of the game is the "boardgame flavor". It's very important to retain the simple design of the rules and the game balance. Or this will be transformed into a new Warzone edition. Not that it will be bad, after all
