I run the playtesting program for the company that has the rights, so I've been trolling various websites looking for potential playtesters. Obviously, I have to wait until after the official announcement to recruit as I can not divulge any further information. (And before everyone volunteers, I already have a short list.)

The metal-miniatures market is composed of people who like to paint and mod miniatures, create terrain, create army lists, and play a game. The majority of the time is spent on painting and modding miniatures. It is the market of the serious gamer.

The pre-painted market is composed of people who like to create army lists and playing the game. It is the market of the casual gamer.

It is a potentially big market. At my local game store, D&D minis is their number 1 seller outpacing even 40K (and they have a real healthly 40K crowd).

Just because FFG is aiming at the same market does not mean that their business plans are the same.

MC:CMG is not a replacement for Warzone. It is aimed at a different segment of the market. There is a chance that FFG or some other company will bring Warzone back once Paradox decides that the market can support two miniature games based on Mutant Chronicles.

Heroclix o SW della WOTC, li ho entrambi.
Si giocano con POCHE miniature (la scatola base di SW è di 6 pezzi) con un regolamento più snello, diciamo un libretto A5 di 40 pagine e c'è tutto.
Visto che il background di MC è già noto, non credo che la FFG farà lo stesso tipo di regolamento.
Potrebbe essere il primo gioco di minia collezionabile fatto come un gioco di minia tradizionali, come regolamento e manuali e miniature.

Il titolo del thread è "Dal forum della Excelsior" per cui continuo a riportare quote che mi sembrano interessanti da riportare.

EE was run by Thom, J.P. and Lance. Basically it was a three person, part time operation, that had to work their butts off to keep everything going. Anyone who wants to have an idea what it costs to start your own miniatures line, WITHOUT a game system, should check out Kev White's www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk. They had a section on their website outlining the costs and labor of starting their own line, and this is with Kev White, as the in house, this is my line, sculptor. Imagine how difficult it is to pay for a license for two games, produce two rules sets and fluff, and then outsource most of the models (Thom sculpted a few for EE). I'll say it again; It was a herculean task that Thom and EE took on.
