NOT vs. NEVER

When a card may “not” have or do something, that means it many not “normally” have or do the thing, but it may be “forced” to do that thing through other means. For example, a warrior that “may not Attack Brotherhood warriors” may not make a normal Attack action against a Brotherhood warrior. But if the warrior was “forced” to Attack a Brotherhood warrior through Special card play, that is allowed.

When a card may “never” have or do something, that means NEVER. In the example above, a warrior who “may never Attack Brotherhood Warriors” may NEVER do it, and may not be “forced” to do it through Special card play, either.

Here’s another example. The card CHOSEN may be attached to a Dark Legion warrior and allows that warrior to be Bestowed with Dark Symmetry cards. That card may NOT be played on a warrior who “may never be bestowed with Dark Symmetry cards” because it wouldn’t do any good. The word NEVER always takes precedence!

una cosa però sul droide e la carta alleanza:il droide dice che non può *usare* equipaggiamento e la carta allenaza lo permette. Quindi perchè è illegale? (e non sottilizziamo molto su avere vs usare: la carta alleanza non permette di *avere* reliquie ed equipaggiamenti non cyb, quindi se vogliamo essere pignoli, niente portatore di luce a cyril dent, che sarebbe un'eresia! )

Good point, and one of those subtle things that always seems to kick you when you least expect it. Both these cards are early, and created before the DT "proper language" really got cemented.

FYI, neither may HAVE Equipment, and basically the "use" should have been a "have."

Se intendiamo in questo senso la carta del Droide, allora dare Equipaggiamenti al Droide con in gioco la carta Allenaza Cybertronic è illegale.

se per tutti va bene allora sono d'accordo (cioè, se la carta era intesa così, per me non ci sono problemi).
bisognerebbe inserire un errata: quando un veicolo o una carta veicolo riporta "non può usare armi/equipaggiamenti" si intende che non possono riceverne.

bisognerebbe chiedere, a questo punto, se nelle intenzioni di bw, avere e usare hanno lo stesso valore e sono intercambiabili l'uno con l'altro (questo per l'esempio della alleanza cyb (che ripeto, permette il solo uso e non il possesso) e per il visore pluriangolare (dato che per questo caso abbiamo posto una distinzione tra usare e avere, si veda la discussione sul biociccio).).
